We fold the story of Walther Gardens with the story of Margaret Cleveland. Walther has the oldest snowball stand in the nation, now named The Peggy, after Margaret’s mother, Peggy Cleveland. A rich tapestry of the old and new makes Walther Gardens a truly curious destination.

We’re excited to share our greenhouse and nursery with the community. Specialty plants, herbs, annuals, perennials, natives plants and flowers will be available during season—with a blend of exotic specimens and everyday favorites. At Christmas we will carry the widest variety of Christmas Trees in the area along with our wreaths, poinsettia, cyclamen and seasonal plants.
The Peggy
As the oldest in the country, this historic, century-old snowball stand offers up gourmet snowballs. Egg Custard originated right here and we’re making it from scratch just like Mrs. Me-Ma Sinsz would’ve over 100 years ago. Our gourmet snowballs are all made with real ingredients and pure cane sugar, you’ll taste the difference. Be sure to try our Organic Marshmallow, we are sure you have never had real Marshmallow before. We offer seasonally inspired signature snowballs and sweet treats that will make you smile.
